There are few places in the world that offer the unique velocity of tidal flows that can be harnessed to generate tidal energy.
Tenax Energy has invested considerable resources and undertaken extensive research to identify appropriate locations around Australia for tidal energy generation.
There are three factors that when combined contribute to the ideal location for tidal energy. These factors are:
- High tidal velocity movement;
- Sufficient water depth; and
- Proximity to existing electricity grid infrastructure.
Tenax Energy has identified three locations in Australia that meet these requirements. They are:
- Banks Strait, Tasmania
- Port Phillip Heads, Victoria
- Clarence Strait, Northern Territory
Tenax Energy is in the process of liaising with the appropriate authorities and stakeholders to gain approval to explore these proposed projects further, by undertaking an extensive Environmental Impact Assessment (or state equivalent).
We are committed to keeping you informed and will provide regular updates about project developments.
